New Year’s greetings

The New Year of 2022 has come to light. Our dreams and hopes has shed new light to the world with the rising sun of the New Year. Dear Fellow Employees of Shinhan! Dear Shinhan Customers and Shareholders who send unwavering support to Shinhan! And dear neighbors in all corners of our society! I wish you great health and happiness for the year of the black tiger.

Looking back at our invaluable achievements…

Dear Fellow Employees of Shinhan, We have come through quite a rough and long tunnel of pandemic and uncertainty in the year 2021. However, with your devotion and commitment, crisis had turned into opportunity of growth, and
obstacles into foothold for leap. It was the beads of sweat you shed on field that allowed us to win the biggest achievements since
foundation of our Company, overcoming the difficulties and threat posed by the pandemic, and the
limitations to our business followed by the epidemic prevention activities. Our group portfolio was smoothly made complete by integrating some of the Shinhan companies and
adding new lineups. We also pushed the envelope in the digital space to get ahead of the competition for future finance, and
managed to set new standards for the industry by establishing a detailed process for ESG management.
Our social roles and responsibilities were never forgotten along the way. Supporting activities unfolded for the socially vulnerable so that they can plan their lives and stand
independent, and there were efforts to nurture startups and add more jobs.
During last year, we grew with our customers and colleagues, shared warmth with our society, and made
our resolution, Building a more solid foundation, and making swift transformation, into reality. I am deeply proud of these achievements and find it the more meaningful, as all of our consorted efforts
only made it possible. I take this chance to extend my sincerest gratitude to the 28,000 colleagues of
Shinhan.

Let’s change our culture

Dear Fellow Employees, We still live together with comprehensive uncertainties surrounding us, inside and out. Practices and success formulas from the past become barriers to innovation, and complacency from
yesterday’s glories block us from transformation.
This is the very reason why we embarked on a journey of cultural transformation since last summer,
which strives to change Shinhan’s everyday work from the root. REBOOT Shinhan is a movement we have been pursuing to this end since the Culture Forum on July
7 last year. First of all, we set a new vision: easier, fresher and more comfortable finance for Shinhan
customers. We now should change the concept of what is Shinhan-like, which will become the
guideline towards that vision. Go right, go fast, go different!
This is the Shinhan WAY 2.0, three keywords that embody Shinhan’s new core values. These six words, three phrases will work as lively standards that can be applied on field, rather than
staying as a simple slogan that is fixed in a frame. Go right! Let’s go the right way for our customers and for our future, and put in all our resources as an individual
employee and an organization to take the right path for our society. Go fast! Speed equals competitiveness. We must learn and grow endlessly, and uplift the speed of execution. Let’s act on things fast, and overcome any possible failures. Lessons learned from the failures will guide
us to an even bigger success. Go different! We need the sense of harmony that respects differences and embraces all people. Let’s make most of the different talents that each and every Shinhan colleagues possess, and create
achievements that are different from our rivals. Have in mind go right, go fast, go different! as the guideline to your actions, so that we can go a step
closer to our dream of becoming first-class.

Let’s lead the digital ecology

Our new core values will work in wondrous ways for us to win the lead in digital finance. Trend of the financial sector is changing fast, circling around the digital culture. Existing financial companies are rushing for a digital shift, but internet banks and big-tech companies’
finance companies are shaping the market change.
Customers now follow the value of customer experience, and not only focus on the size and profitability
of financial companies. Therefore, we should create a Shinhan-exclsive customer experience, based on the Shinhan WAY 2.0. Let’s go right, go fast, go different in operating our digital platform, and proudly win the competition
against big-tech and platform companies.

Let’s benefit the world with finance

Our new vision and the Shinhan WAY 2.0 is directed to our mission, Benefit the world with finance. The values we pursue is right on point with our society’s sustainable growth. Last year, we set our ESG slogan as “Do the Right thing for a Wonderful World”. It was with our genuine intention to fully act on our social roles when we tapped into communication
with a wider range of global companies at the UN COP26, and when we announced to go carbon neutral,
the first as an Asian financial company. Now, we must widen our steps towards a warm-hearted finance. To leave a healthier footstep for our future generation along with the growth of our industry, we should
provide diverse solutions for our society with our main business, finance. Let’s become a reliable
partner to our society, and provide sustainable support to our society and companies.

Breakthrough 2022, re-foundation of Shinhan

Dear Fellow Employees of Shinhan, this year marks the 40th anniversary of Shinhan’s foundation. “Shin-Han” – “New-Country”; this is the meanings behind each character our name, Shinhan. It is filled
andwith our strong volition to head towards a new finance for Korea. And so, Shinhan has had
succeeded in leading financial innovation, living up to its name. The 40th anniversary of our foundation! Standing at the beginning of this New Year, 2022, we must
engrave in our hearts the determination we dreamt of back when the Company was founded. Breakthrough 2022, Reboot Shinhan! Our new vision is a manifestation of our determined resolution towards breaking through the challenges
we face and reaching forward to a new Shinhan. It is time for us to break through the environment around us, the competition with blurred
boundaries, and the past that has become rigid practices – a time to renew everything of Shinhan. Let’s take pride in our 40 years’ history, a symbol of daring challenge, and reaffirm our determination
of re-foundation, gearing towards the top. Let’s go right, go fast, and go different to an easier, faster and more comfortable finance for our
customers, and write a new history for finance, one that Shinhan creates and sets.

Dear 28,000 Shinhan family

We have behind a glorious history of challenge and innovation. Also, we are armed with great dreams to become top-class, and with sufficient competencies to realize
that dream. Let’s go right, go fast, go different in breaking through the environment, competition, and past, and
realize the great dream to stand at the top.
